MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

We welcom the following new members to our Circle:

Member #194 Christopher Jaques, Richmansworth
Member #195 Alex Chatwin, Worcester

TELEVISION

Occasionally I find TV companies phoning me; they are doing a programme on unusual hobbies and have come across our Circle. I then have to think of a name quickly. Ken Parris recently appeared on The Big Breakfast Show; did you see it? It would be nice to have a name or two up my sleeve in case I receive another request like this. Is anyone interested?

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

This year, on the 6th June, we were able to meet in the garden of Ian and Jo Wilson's house during the Cardmeet. After a welcome from our Chairman, Ken Parris, and receipt of apologies from several members we had a report from the membership secretary. He reported that we had 59 paid-up members plus two new ones. One member had died and one resigned, leaving four who had not renewed. (This in now only one thanks to our Chairman's efforts.) The accounts for the first half of the year showed a healthy position and the subscriptions would remain the same for another year.

George Proctor has resigned as Publicity Officer and ideas to fill the position were discussed. All the other officers were re-elected.

Ian Wilson undertook to find our the costs of Tee-shirts with a different logo; this could be the original logo used on our rubber stamp but would appear quite small and discreetly on the left of the chest.

Arrangements for the next year's Cardmeet in the York area were in hand and would be circulated later. Some members met for lunch in Aylesbury; our thanks are due to Michael Porter for this privilege and he has re-invited us all for next year.

After the thanks to Ian and Jo for their hospitality, and to the list compilors for their work - including that of John Hemmings - members retired to watch the video-recording of Ken Parris's recent appearence on The Big Breakfast Show.
