Arrive at Bradford-on-Avon from 1:00 PM onwards

2:30 PM Member meet for tea in the lounge and for the exchange of cards

5:30 PM Talk by Ray Knowles of the Kennet & Avon Trust

6:45 PM Questions

7:30 PM Dinner at the Hotel (Or locally if you prefer. You will need a car to make it to the center of town).

9:15 AM Annual General Meeting

11:45 AM Coach trip to Kennet & Avon Canal Offices and the Museum at Devizes

12:00 PM Lunch with time to shop and see museum

2:00 PM Conducted tour by Eddie Hopkins and Peter Jordan down the Caen Hill Flight

4:00 PM Coach return to Hotel

7:20 PM Meet for our 7:30 Dinner at the hotel

Sunday, 30th June 2002

9:00 AM Coach trip to Crofton Pumping Station

10:15 AM Introductory talk about the Station by Ray Knowles from the K&A Canal Trust.
(We will have ample time to visit the Station. There are volunteers who wear white boiler suits on steaming days who can answer questions. We hope there will be time to start the engines.

12:00 PM Coach trip to Great Bedwyn to visit the Stone Mason's Yard and continuing in return to Bradford via Honey Street to look at the Barge Inn.

1:15 PM Lunch

2:30 PM Cruise on the MV Barbara McClellan.

4:00 PM Departure for those who need to return home.

5:45 PM Slide presentation by Roger Halse, chairperson of the Somerset Coal Canal.

7:30 PM Dinner at the hotel

Monday, 1st July 2002

8:50 AM depart hotel to the Interpretation Centre on the Somerset Canal. From the car park we will walk the short length of canal to the Dundas Aquaduct then return via the old lock cottage. From here we make our way to Midford to meet Roger Halse who will be our guide along the old route of the canal. As we cross the road under the old railway viaduct we will be able to follow the flight of locks to Engine Wood. Then before descending we hope to be able to follow the line of the locks over a private section dropping down to the Wheatsheaf at Combe Hay.

2:00 PM Returning to Bradford on Avon

We all look forward to an enjoyable weekend with weather to match.
